Why Not
To Buy
A USB Turntable In Detail.
Lots Of Pictures Below.
You see lots of ads for USB Turntables. But are they right for you?
Check out what to look for and what's
often missing.
It's good to know.
It's really about:
Your Turntable Or Ours
The Only Audiophile System
LPs To CDs & MP3s Fast & Best
Plugs Right Into Your PC - Easy
|
 |
No USB Turntable Here. You get a Pro Disc Jockey Turntable & professional
phono preamp. Plus you get a top quality magnetic cartridge with an elliptical
diamond stylus, not just a ceramic cartridge, yuck.
Plus, I think you'll agree the world's best recording & restoration programs
(not free Audacity) give you the best audiophile broadcast quality copies of your
records fast & easy. |
|
1.) The quality of the digital sound you're going to get.
Your computer already has a great sound
card. Unfortunately with USB turntables, a 2nd sound card is required in the turntable.
Sound cards can cost $50-$100. So, how much is left for the quality of the turntable?
Oh, and by default with a USB turntable, you'll lose all your normal computer
sounds when the USB turntable is plugged in. But at least there's a trick
you can use to get around this problem or you can unplug the USB turntable when
you want to get your normal computer sounds back.
2.) The ease of getting each song separated into tracks so you can keep the ones
you want and delete the ones you don't and program them on CDs.
The Automated DAK Track Tracker gives
you 1st time every time separated tracks/songs without making you stop and save
each track separately, like the free programs that often come with USB turntables,
which can take hours or relying on unreliable silence sensing.
3.) The ability to really remove the scratches, clicks and pops WITHOUT
hurting the sound.
With DAK you get a separate professional Digital Noise Reduction
program that removes clicks, scratches, pops and surface noise from records and
hiss from cassettes without hurting the sound. Plus it's just check the box totally
automated easy and it will do 100 tracks at once, rather than make you do one
track at a time.
4.) The ability to BOTH burn your tracks on to CDs with DAK's
integrated burner and convert them to MP3s with DAK's integrated converter for
your MP3 Player or iTunes/iPods.
Burn your tracks with NO PAUSES between
tracks for uninterrupted don't break the mood CDs or burn with normal pauses if
you like. DAK includes 4 burners so you can burn standard audio CDs with and without
pauses and MP3 CDs and backup CDs and DVDs of all your treasured tracks.
You sure don't get multiple CD burners in free software programs
or a batch converter that gives you the power to convert 100 tracks at a time
to MP3 ready for your iPod or other MP3 player.
Why Not USB?
When you plug in a USB adapter, you
deactivate the sound card in your computer and use the USB sound card instead.
But you already have a perfectly good sound card in your computer.
Often it costs $100 or more. So why get a turntable system for $120 to $200 that
includes another sound card when you don't need it. How many of your hard earned
dollars are left for the quality of the turntable, preamp and recording software?
And is the USB sound card as good as yours?
Plus look at this. You need to use a special software workaround
playthrough feature to even hear your sound as you record with a USB sound card.
Plus, with a USB turntable, if
you are just getting the Free Audacity recording program, you can download
that for free on the Internet right now. Just search Google and download it now.
You don't have to buy anything from anyone to get it. And for any other
program is it Vista Compatible too?
Plus with Audacity Freeware, where are you going to get the step-by-step
how to movies and professional, personal pictorial tech support you get at DAK?
With DAK's system, you get $52.95 worth of created for this purpose programs and
tutorials (Not Just Some Freeware) and step-by-step show you the way movie tutorials.
I think you'll find there's no comparison at all.
So,
why not use the sound card already in your computer? It's great.
Why PAY for a 2nd Sound
Card? Wouldn't you rather spend your money on a great quality turntable and great
recording and restoration programs rather than a 2nd sound card you don't need?
And if you
already own a perfectly good turntable, Why
PAY for even on DAK's professional disc jockey turntable. (It's great and
you may want to, but you don't have to.) Just use your own turntable and our PC
mixer interface preamp and recording and restoration programs we include and that
complete system is just $69.90.
It's worth checking out BEFORE you buy. And what about the
Clicks, Pops and scratches? Do you get separate restoration program? With DAK
you do.
Note: for notebook computers you actually do need a USB adapter as there
are no line in jacks. That's the only time we recommend using an adapter and we
have one if you do have a laptop.
Preamps
Built Into Turntables?
Heck, I haven't seen a preamp built into a turntable since, well we were using
victrolas. |
Finally, why put the preamp in the turntable? Heck, I haven't seen a preamp
built into a turntable since, well we were using victrolas. Check out any audiophile
turntable. The preamps are always in your receivers or separate. DAK's preamp
is built into our entirely separate Interface Mixer Preamp, see below.
Plus you are only going to play your precious records one time to copy them
so don't you want a PRO turntable that has flawless tracking, an anti-skating
arm, damped cueing, strobe and pitch control with an aluminum platter? Plus
just be sure you are getting a great Magnetic Cartridge with an
elliptical diamond stylus?
The answers
are all YES with the power of your computer and DAK's
Pro Disc Jockey turntable, Separate Mixer Interface Preamp, Digital Recording
Programs and all the cables to connect to your desktop/tower computer for just
$219 complete for everything. |
