How Active Noise Cancelling Works' below.

Forget earbuds that fall out of your ears every time you move. Forget missing the richest sound because the ear buds don't seal for rich deep bass.

Forget earbuds that don't give you perfect sweet spot high frequency perfection. And finally, enjoy pin drop background silence at home, at the office or in a plane with built-in active noise Cancelling microphones and circuitry. Save Big. Get it all for just $29.99.

By Drew Kaplan
It's frustrating. It's not that earbuds can't sound great. It's that if they don't seal, you get poor, weak bass. Think of your ears as a speaker cabinet. You need a good seal and walls that don't flex or the super low bass just washes away.

And if earbuds aren't perfectly aimed at the center sweet spot, you get an awful lack of high-end definition. Highs are very directional. Just walk off the center access of your main stereo system speakers and you'll still have all the bass, but you lose the super clear dramatic highs.

And every time I put earbuds into my ears, it takes me like 5 minutes to get them pushed into the sweet spot where I get a good seal for great bass and clear distinct highs. And then as soon as I move, they fall out. I don't know if it's just me, or I have small ears or what, but I'm sure that whoever thought up earbuds sure didn't have me in mind.
Problem solved. Now there's a new generation of in-ear earbuds that actually put the high-definition transducers into your ear canal for perfect, sealed longwearing comfort. And because they actually fit into your ear canal they always hit your audio sweet spot for the best deep rich bass plus added clarity and detail. They also give you significant isolation from outside sounds.

Active Noise Reduction Added. Last year I introduced these in-ear earbuds that didn't fall out of our ears and hit my audio sweet spot. The main thing for me was not having the earbuds fall out. It's such an ongoing pain.
Walk around your home or office without any music playing and see which sounds appear and disappear as you switch in and out the active noise Cancelling.
It's odd, I'm 6'2" tall and wear size 14 shoes. But I must have the smallest ears known to man. Or, so I thought. Thousands of you DAKonians moved to my in-ear earbuds and stopped having the same falling out problems that I had. So, I guess I was wrong. My ears are probably about the same size as yours. I guess just about everyone was fighting to keep in their earbuds and get a good seal for perfect sound.
Anyway, another benefit of the in-ear earbuds is that they tend to act like the earplugs you'd wear in a noisy environment. They isolate you from the noises that so often disturb your music. So that was good too. That's why they are called noise-isolating earbuds.
Each earbud has its own Mic to pick up the noise you want to cancel. It's a major improvement.
But, after I tried a few pair of the new active noise Cancelling headphones I was sold. Finally, not only are you isolated from the outside environment, but you actually have an electronic circuit that removes the low noises that are intrusive to our music, and frankly fatiguing.
Sure you've heard about how great they work on planes. But active noise Cancelling is great around computers, fans and just about anything with a continuous low sound. They actually work by constantly listening to the world around you with a tiny microphone in each ear and then using special circuitry to reverse the sound and play it back out of phase so it's effectively destroyed.
Now you'll only hear the music you want and not the annoying background noise that ruins your musical enjoyment. Click here to jump down the page to see my exploration of How Active Noise Cancelling Works. You can never know too much.
No one size fits all here. It's a big, big improvement.
3-Seal Sizes Included. Each pair of these sleek good-looking in-ear headphones comes with 3 different sized pairs of silicone seals. Just put the ones on that work best for you. I use the smallest and they are perfect. I'm thrilled that somebody finally developed earbuds that fit for me and they will for you too.
Of course, the star of the show is the sound quality. These aren't the only headphones with a frequency response from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. But because these high-definition transducers seal into your ear and hit your sweet spot, they can actually deliver these frequencies to your ears, not just to the lab test equipment.
You'll hear exceptional clarity; really rich deep, tight bass; and sound that envelops you like never before. Plus with great noise isolation you won't be bothered by the outside world. Of course, don't wear these while driving, because you'll be locked in your own musical wonderland, which is what listening to your music is all about.
They slide right into your ear canal and aim the sound perfectly.

More About The Fit.
In the past, I always used the featherweight headphones with my Cassette and portable CD players. And they sounded great. And frankly when I first got my first iPod, I couldn't make their earbuds fit and I went back to using my over the head headphones.
But I was the only one on the plane, on the beach and in the gym with headphones. I really figured it was me. Maybe for some reason my ears were small. I'm 6'2" tall and I wear size 14 shoes so if my ear canals were small, that was the only part that was.
But I asked my son who said, "no dad, they fall out with everyone. It's not just you". Well, I felt better. As the gadget guru for the past 45 years, I hate to be behind. So, I began my quest to find earbuds that fit. And finally, here are the results.

Fit is important for 2 reasons, well 3 really.
No More Fumbling For The Best Sound.

Because DAK's in-ear earbuds fit in your ear canal rather than simply in your outer ear, you get a perfect seal. You'll notice a startling improvement in high-end detail and clarity and a real improvement in the deep rich bass. Plus they don't fall out, which is the best improvement of all.

Doesn't Look Comfortable?
It's the angles. I think you'll find that the angles actually make these the most comfortable earbuds you've ever tried for long all day listening. And they are definitely the easiest ever earbuds to grasp to put in or take out.

Why 3 sections? Most earbuds only have 2 sections. These earbuds are more comfortable than ever and even easier to put in and take out.

The tiny bottom section is all that goes in your ear. The middle section as the new improved 10 millimeter speaker driver (most are only 6 or 7milimeters and can't produce as much deep rich bass).

And the top section contains the active noise Cancelling microphone. It's much easier to grab, adjust and put in than any other earbud I've ever used.

Sleek good looks and a perfect in-ear-canal fit gives you the best sound and great comfort for hours of daily use. Plus they are so easy to grasp, they are the easiest ever to put in and take out.

No fumbling. Just grab the 'handle' and push them in for great sound.
Reason 1. Having to constantly keep putting the buds back in your ears as you move about is beyond a horrible pain. Now you put them in and they stay put. Great.
Reason 2. Losing the sweet spot when you move, or worse yet never even finding the sweet spot has a dramatic negative impact on your musical enjoyment.
Heck I hate losing my deep bass and dramatic highs. Where's the fun in that? Now the sweet spot is perfectly aimed every time. And, it stays there.
Reason 3 Isolation. I've always loved headphones. They let me go off in my own musical universe. I'm free from the world and I can play the songs I want without bothering anyone, I can have the music as loud or as soft as I like without bothering anyone. (don't turn it up too loud) And best of all, nobody bothers me. They're blocked out. I really do love headphones.
Reason 4 Active Noise Cancellation. See the holes on the back of the earbud, right above the R? That's where the Mic is hidden for each ear. So as sounds reach the Mic from the outside world, they are received there, decoded and resent to your ear out of phase so that the outside sounds are destroyed. It really does work. And they are so very comfortable to wear and easy to put in and take out. These are the best of the best.

Every Musical And Convenience Nuance
Is Catered Too.
Change the volume even when your MP3 player is in your pocket or backpack.
It's really all about the sound. OK, well not having them fall out all the time is really what got me into the in-ear earbuds. But that's still so they sound good. And these do sound the best I've heard. But, there are creature comforts and niceties that make your listening experience even better. Think of these as the top of the heap in comfort. So, let's look at a few of the extras that you simply don't get with standard everyday earbuds.
Volume control. Lots of times you put your MP3 player or iPod in your pocket or backpack. There's no way to adjust the volume without getting it out of your pocket. Now there is. It's on the side of the control unit and it works regardless of whether you are in active noise cancellation or not.
I fly all the time. I've been to the far east more than 50
times.
On a plane with the non-standard airplane jacks? Got an original iPhone? No problem.
If you get in planes very often you know just how wearing the continuous drone of an airplane can be. The newer US planes often have the standard 3.5mm jacks so you can plug your headphones right in and listen to the pilots or the audio tracks or the movie. Some still don’t, so you'll find the 2 prong custom airline adapter that most planes use that don't have standard jacks.
Also if you have one of the 1st generation iPhones, you know that they had a custom 3.5mm jack that your standard earbuds or headphones won't fit. Thankfully in the newer generations they've started using the standard 3.5mm jack.
But if you have an original iPhone, you'll love the fact that the iPhone jack adapter is included with these active noise Cancelling earbuds.
Finally, my wife and one of my sons love having a
pouch for the earbuds. I'm not that neat. I just throw them in
You good about storing your things? This is a nice bag if you're into neatness. I'm not.
my case, pocket or on the counter. Sorry, I know I should be better.
But if you're one of those people that actually takes care of your things, you'll appreciate the drawstring pouch. Otherwise you can leave it in the box like I have.
One more thing. If you look at the pictures of the earbuds you'll notice they have a long gray strain protector. Two really good things about it. Thing 1. You'll have to work really hard to break these cables.
And, Thing 2. It makes it super easy to put in and take out the earbuds. No fumbling around. Between the 3 part earbud itself and the long gray strain protector, these are the easiest to use I've ever seen.

How Does Active Noise Cancelling Work
And Why Should You Care?
Active Noise Cancelling earbuds are very different from conventional earbuds and headphones. You've probably heard ads for earbuds that say they are noise isolating or have passive noise reduction. All that means is that when you put them in your ear, they act like earplugs to block out some of the outside ambient noise. They aren't smart.
By definition, just about any in-ear earbuds really do help isolate you from your environment and that's good. DAK's 'They Fit' earbuds do perform as isolating or passive noise reduction earbuds too. So, that's a benefit you get with virtually any in-ear earbud.
See the holes? That's where the microphone is in each earbud.
But, isolating/passive noise reduction and Active Noise Cancelling are two entirely different kettles of fish. While passive earphones simply block the sound, Active Noise Cancellation actually destroys the sounds you don't want by opening a whole bag of technical magic tricks. So, let's explore how they work.
Active Noise Cancellation earbuds actually have microphones built into each earbud facing out. Each microphone is positioned right at your ear canal so it 'hears' exactly what your ear hears at the exact millisecond that your ear would hear the sound.
The microphone picks up the sound and passes it to the noise cancellation circuitry in the

Here I've cut open one of the earbuds so you can see the microphone. There really is a Mic in each earbud to capture the ambient sound.

controller. In its bag of technical magic tricks is the ability to choose the frequencies that are going to be sent back to your ears through the earbuds along with your music, or even if you have no music playing at all. (Yes, you can use Active Noise Cancellation just to cancel noise even without playing any music. Either way, the Active Noise Cancellation can dramatically reduce fatigue.)
Anyway, noise cancellation works best around 300Hz and below. It won't cut out talking or high frequencies. It works best on continuous sounds like an airplane, a fan, a refrigerator or a motor. It works best on sounds like that. But it will have a major impact on many sounds. So always test it out. DAK's 'They Fit' Active Noise Cancellation earbuds can achieve up to a 23db reduction at 300Hz which translates to about 75%. And 75% is the accepted industry standard.

It's quite a bag of tricks to separate the frequencies and send the out of phase signal back to each earbud to destroy the incoming sound. And each ear is controlled 100% separately.

The Active Noise Cancellation Runs up to 36 hours on one battery and you don't need the battery if you're not using the noise cancellation circuitry

So, the active noise cancellation circuitry sends the sounds around 300hz through a special circuit that moves it 180% out of phase. (In English, that means it's exactly the opposite of the original sound.)
So, when the 180% out of phase sound is fed into your earbuds, it's like a suicide bomber. It both destroys itself and the original sound wave that you'd hear as it entered your ear. If you think about the term Active Noise Cancellation, you'll see that it's the new out of phase sound waves Cancelling the original waves there's no sound left for you to hear.
Has To Be Perfect Or Else
The 180% out of phase signals created by the active noise cancellation circuitry aren't antimatter or anything like that. If you listened to them by themselves, they would sound just like the original music, in fact perfect.
Except for the fact that they are only reproduced around the 300Hz range, you would think that they were the music. So for example if you used a long cable and moved the microphones to a room with noise and you sat in another room you'd hear the sounds picked up from the microphones and again, except that you'd only hear the frequencies around 300hz, they would sound normal.
The 180 degrees out of phase doesn't hurt the music. It just changes the time of when the sound waves get to you. It's just a slight delay (1/2 of a sound wave) really is all it is.

It's only that the waves are 180 degrees out of phase that makes this work. And when you put two waveforms together in very close proximity like in your ear canal and they are out of phase by 180%, you destroy both of them. And that my friends, is how Active Noise Cancelling works.
Note: You may have experienced a tiny fraction of this in your own home speaker systems if they are hooked up out of phase (Ground to hot on one side and hot to hot on the other.) You can get dead spots (mostly in the center of the room) and lose some bass definition.
The effect isn't even close to the noise canceling in these earbuds because the room is big by comparison and you're only getting a fraction of the waves actually destroyed. But it's exactly the same thing, just not as efficient at destroying the waves as the noise cancellation circuitry is in these earbuds.
Oh, you may be asking, what about my music? Well, the Active Noise Cancelling only destroys its exact matching wave, not the rest of your music. So it won't hurt your music at all.
So, now you know what Active Noise Cancellation does. It uses microphones to pick up outside ambient noises. It chooses the frequencies it's best at Cancelling.
Then it feeds those 180 degrees out of phase into the earbuds to cancel out and destroy both the ambient sounds you would have heard if you didn't have active noise Cancelling earbuds and the sounds created by the circuit. So, you hear nothing at all. And it does all this without any noticeable effect on your music at all.

Just turn on the controller and hear the ambient sounds disappear. It's amazing. It has a clip on the back to clip to your shirt or just put it in a pocket. It also gives you volume control too.

The Active Noise Cancellation Runs up to 36 hours on one battery and you don't need the battery if you're not using the noise cancellation circuitry

Final Thoughts.
If you check around as I have, you'll find that most people have the same problem with earbuds that you and I have. And they just live with it. Think of it like 80% of the world is missing out on great sounds and futzing with putting earbuds back in their ears. But you don't have to live with the falling out and loss of great sound any more.
Even the plug cable is angled for ease of use.
You'll get dramatically increased fidelity and acoustic impact at lower volume levels because you've hit your sweet spot. (Think about it. Normally you have to turn up the sound for the detail to show. Now you won't need to nearly as much.)
So get the rich, sweet bass and the ultra-clear detail of your highs at all volume levels. It's really about the fit, the isolation and the sweet spot centering.
And now with the added dual microphone induced active noise Cancelling circuitry, you won't be bothered by drowning noises from the outside world. On a plane, in the office or around the house, the active noise cancellation circuitry will really make a substantial improvement to your listening experience.
DAK's in-ear earbuds come with a standard limited 90 day warranty, a full extra long 6' long anti-tangle audio cable and 3 sets of different size silicone ear seals to fit your ears perfectly. The active noise Cancelling circuit runs for up to 36 hours on a single AAA battery, included. And you can use them without the active noise Cancelling circuit if you like. But once you hear the difference, you'll become a believer, fast.
These earbuds have a 20-20,000hz wide smooth frequency response. Their oversized 10 millimeter speaker/transducers produce incredible deep rich bass that's unequalled by conventional 6-7 millimeter transducers. They have a sensitivity of 115db. The Active Noise Cancellation is rated 75% (23db @ 300hz).

NO One Size Fits All Here.
You'll Hear & Feel The Difference.
It's a complete listening system. They really do fit into your ear canal so they don't fall out when you move, they seal the canal so you get the best possible bass and exclude outside interference and aim the sound precisely. You really will hear the difference. And it's all about the fit for long wearing comfort and the best sound.
Add the new Active Noise Cancelling microphones and circuitry and you've got the best earbuds you've ever listened too

Try My 'They Fit' Great Sound Earbuds
Now With Active Noise Cancellation
Risk Free
Plug them into your iPod or iPhone or MP3 player. Put them in your ears. They fit easy and great. Dance around. Do a few cartwheels and see if you can get them to fall out. I mean if you really work at it you probably can, but it won't be easy.
They want to stay put. Turn on your favorite music. The music you love the best and know the best. And compare the sound. I always recommend you choose your favorite music first so you can really compare what the voices, the brushes on snare drums and the string basses sound like. See if you don't hear phenomenally clearer highs, deeper richer bass like I do. You know what the music you love should sound like. I'll bet you agree it sounds better than ever before.
Then please do two things for me. Thing One. Turn off the music and walk around your home, office or try this the next time you're on a plane. With the Active Noise Cancelling OFF, listen to common annoying noises. Listen to fans from your computers, window air conditioners, refrigerator or dryer hum. Then switch on the active noise Cancelling and see how much of it goes away.
These earbuds accomplish a remarkable 23db noise reduction at about the 300Hz area. That translates to about a 75% reduction. If you're like me, you'll find that sometimes it seems like more and sometimes it seems like less. But either way, it's a remarkable improvement.
Thing 2 to try.
Choose a tune you know. Switch the noise Cancelling on and off and see if you don't agree with me that there's no noticeable change in your music at all. So, get rid of annoying sounds without hurting your music. Active noise cancellation really is the best of both worlds.
OK, back to the fit. It's really all about the fit and the sweet spot. I think once you listen to the music you love best, you'll be sold on these new in-ear earbuds just like I am.
