First a confession. I love my music. I really really do. I listen 24/7. And if I can't get to my music, I get really depressed. But when I listen to Internet Radio, I get super frustrated because I want to listen to what I want to listen to when I want to listen to it, not what streaming radio, wants to play.

I want to hear what I want to hear in the order I want to hear it, now. And the only way to get that is to record my own songs and then set up my own playlists to play what I want when I want to hear it.

This animation shows how the I Wish Recorder works. Your music is playing and only a constantly buffered 5 minutes is not being discarded. And How Does It Work?

The I Wish Recorder is a new technology, next generation recording program. It doesn't work like other recorders. With other recorders, you click record and they record until you click stop.

Or with some you can set a timer so they act more like a VCR or DVR. You can't use these recorders on your computer to record 24/7 all day because .Wav files build up massive files at the rate of about 600 megs per hour.

So if you leave the recorder running all day, you'll crash your computer when you hit your PCs max file size or when you run out of hard disc space.

MP3 files are much smaller and only build up files at the rate of 60 megs per hour. But even MP3 files will fill up your RAM and ultimately cause the same problems.

So you can't leave other recorders running 24/7 all day to be sure you capture that one song or idea that you really want. And because of the file size problems, you're not likely to even have the recorder running when that special song comes along that you really want.

And if you do record long files, have you ever tried to open a multi-hour recording on your computer to locate the one or 2 songs you actually want? Well, it's really no fun at all.

OK, So You Get The 5 Minute Buffer Idea?

So that's it. The main trick is that the I Wish Recorder is continually discarding anything beyond 5 minutes so it doesn't build up big files and you can leave it running 24/7 all day without building up overhead on your computer or big files on your hard drive.

By the way, you can also choose 10 minutes or 15 minutes as your buffer but since a song is usually about 3 minutes, the 5 minute choice is really all I need.

So using it is just this easy. Whenever you hear a song that you like, you just Click the Keep Button and the I Wish Recorder saves it to your hard drive and starts recording again. And that's all you need to know to start saving songs yourself.

But What If Your Song Isn't Finished?

Just so you know, I'm not some fancy marketing guy who just sticks up a lot of junk to sell you without regard to what they can do for you.

Problem solved. After the I Wish Recorder was finished I added another new button. I call it my Plus 3 Saver Button and here's what it does for us.

If the song that you want is finished playing, just hit the Keep Button like I showed you above and you're all set. But if the song is still playing, hit the +3 Button instead. When you hit the +3 Button, you'll see nothing happen.

But what you've started is a 3 minute countdown timer that will keep the I Wish Recorder recording for 3 minutes into the future. Then it will save the 3 minutes that went into the future PLUS the 5 minutes from the past. So you'll record a total of 8 minutes total. That's the 5 minutes you would have gotten from clicking the Keep Button, plus the additional 3 minutes into the future to let your song finish.

How Do I Trim The Songs
And Why Do I Need To Trim Them At All?

So the I Wish Recorder will record 5 minutes so you won't miss your song. But that means that there's probably going to be about a minute or so at the beginning or end that's not part of your song.

No problem. That's why the 5 minutes is so great. You're not dealing with big files. There are two easy, fast ways to get rid of the parts you don't want.
