how we coated the oxide onto the Mylar. |
 DAK manufactured over 1,000,000
cassettes, IN OUR OWN FACTORY, and tapes per month. We were one of the
first to implement 1) raised guided slip-sheets to prevent jamming,
2) cobalt-doped oxide for super high-end response and 3) calendered
surface for long life and improved high frequency response.
We made most of our cassettes
for high-speed duplication. So they had to be tough.
We also copied hundreds
of thousands of cassettes on our high-speed duplicators. If anyone knows all
about cassettes it's DAK.

So, What Were The Problems?
Problem
1. 60-cycle hum is a major problem when connecting a cassette deck,
open reel deck or a turntable to a computer. The Preamp Mixer Interface totally
isolates and suppresses the hum. Although it's AC powered (so you don't need to
keep buying batteries), it operates totally with ground loop transformed 12V AC
Power, no ground loop untransformed AC on the chassis. So, now you'll have
no hum problem at all.
Your computer has a problem
with grounds because of its huge power supply and your Phone, DSL or Cable
modem has its own source ground that's found outside your home that can cause
massive hum all the time or intermittently. Till now, it's been a maddening problem.
Now you'll have no induced hum at all. It's not just blocked, it's obliterated.

Problem
2. If you also want to copy LPs and 45s, you need a phono preamp that
both boosts the signal and decodes the RIAA equalization curve manufactured into
LPs because of some of the physical limitations of phonograph records. The Mixer
boosts and equalizes the signal.
Problem
3. You will either use the Line Out Jacks from your cassette
deck, or the headphone out Jacks. Both can be plugged into the Line Inputs
of the PC Interface Preamp Mixer. Oh, you also need to access the line input usually
found on the back of your desktop computer. And, usually space is a problem on
your desk where you keep your computer. 
By connecting the PC Interface
Mixer, you get a small (just 9" x 5" x 2") connection to your sound
card's line input and you can put the mixer on or behind your monitor when you're
not using it. I've even included the necessary mixer
interface to sound card cable for free too.

great music that's streaming over the Internet. You're one click away from building
a great music collection which you can listen to on your computer, copy to MP3
or burn to CDs.
Preserve Track Order.
BIG BIG DEAL.
Normally when you record music to your hard drive no matter what order it's
in, Windows will alphabetize it. And that's not good. You want the tracks in YOUR
order or ALBUM order. You want the 1st movement first, the overture first or your
tracks in the order that they were in on the album or the order that you want
them in. But Windows Won't let you do it. Till Now.
DAK's exclusive Preserve Track
order in both the included Playlist Manager (built into the Wave Editor) and in
the CD Ripper will let you put your tracks in order and keep them there on your
computer, when you move them to MP3 players and when you burn CDs. It's a Drew

Create Windows Media Player Playlists, Normalize Track Volumes, Convert MP3 to

Time Copying Cassettes.
Now if you have a high speed dubbing deck or a cassette duplicator, just play
your cassettes at double speed and after you record, just click Speed Decode/Half
speed and the cassettes will be digitally returned to normal flawless digital
sound.
Now with the DAK automatic timers and the 1/2x speed decode you really can process
hundreds of cassettes super fast and with perfect fidelity. And if you've got
any old tapes that were recorded at 15/16ths or 1-7/8s, use the 2X speed decode
to return them to normal speed. It's digital and perfect.

Hassle
free CD burning.
Your computer came with a CD burner and a program to run it. And that's
fine. But many of the programs do so many different things that it's hard to figure
out just how to do what's needed to make great sounding audio CDs that will play
in your car, home and portable CD players.
Important Tip. There
are two things you've got to do and as you can see in the above picture I've put
them on the main screen.
Thing 1. You have to choose
to close/finalize the disc or it won't play on normal CD players. I've set up
this burner to do that for you autmatically.
Thing 2. Not all
CD players will play your CDs if you burn at full speed. So if your CD writer
allows it, cut your burn speed to about 1/2 the max you see in the pull down box
above.
OK, as you can see
I've done this 1000s of times so I've got just about all of your potential problems
whipped.
Finally, you can burn from
DAK's Preserved Track Order System you get in our playlist manager. It's the best.
And, you can just add tracks or whole folders of tracks. It's all up to you and
it shows you how many tracks or how much space you've got to fill up your CD.
