Extreme home videos are just like regular home videos. Except that they’re much, much, much cooler.

Check out our other YouTube Demos to see what you can do with your DAK Cam:

Camcorders sit alone and forgotten in some basement corner and host parlor meetings for congregating dust particles.

Even digital cameras have lost relevance in recent years. Your smartphone takes great quality shots, but it’s just too fragile, and too valuable.

You can’t risk breaking or losing your smartphone at a waterpark, beach or ski slope.

The result?

Families miss out on great home videos.

The DAK Cam is designed for rough handling. Your smartphone isn’t.

So our smartphones can’t replace our old camcorders.

Besides, your phone stores lots of sensitive data, so you’ll always be keeping a close watch on anyone handling it.

With your DAK Cam, you’re just storing the day’s video and photos.

Mount it wherever, toss it to your kids, let your friends take control for a while—they’ll capture the shots without you constantly hovering over their shoulder.

No expensive equipment issue. No security issue.

Get fresh perspectives for your videos with DAK Cam’s included clips, straps and mounts.

See more firsthand action with its built in 170 degree wide-angle lens. Clip it to your shirt, strap it to your helmet or mount it on your car’s windshield.
Create first person experiences by mixing and matching attachment mounts for completely new views.

And strategically mounting your DAK Cam will make your video dramatically sharper, smoother and more stable than handheld filming.

Cameras used to have little peephole viewfinders to check the subject before you snap the shot.

Digital cameras upgraded to LCD screens, accomplishing the same thing.

But if your DAK Cam is mounted to your helmet, to your dog’s collar or to a handlebar, you can’t see the LCD screen. That’s when you’ll control your DAK Cam through your smartphone.

Using a free downloadable app, your smartphone connects to DAK Cam’s built in Wifi network and transform into a viewfinder. So your DAK Cam is in the action, while your smartphone catches it from a safe distance.

Although, I found out (mainly from experience) that water absorbs micro waves really well. That’s why a bowl of water heats up so quickly in a microwave, but it also means that the Wifi viewfinder will cut out when your DAK Cam’s submerged underwater. DAK Cam will continue recording, you just won’t see it until it resurfaces and reconnects.

The viewfinding app allows you to select between a photo or a movie, and also lets you choose quality settings (video in 1080p 30fps or 720p 60fps).

What really separates the today’s home videos from the old ones is that we now have powerful video editing software that’s already installed on your computer.

Not enough people take advantage of this. Windows Movie Maker® and Mac’s iMovie® let you gather footage from different videos, trim them into the best shots, arrange them in any order you like, cut out the video’s sound and overlay it with a soundtrack of your own.

You’re left with a shareable video that you totally created.

I edited the above video (at the beginning of the article) with GoPro Studio®.

No, we’re not affiliated with them in any way, but they developed a great free program, so they deserve due credit for that.

Using the DAK brush along with anti-static cleaning products has created the best sound I've ever heard from my records!

This is a surprise for my wife who has been chirping about no space on her phone and her cloud is full too. DAK to the rescue!
