 I've
treated creating this site like analyzing any product. I've read just
about everything I can get my hands on about it. I think that each of
the books above is worth reading.
The only ones
I haven't finished yet are the JavaScript books. Look for more of that
to come. It's a lot of fun. There's so much 'neat stuff' you can do.
Web Design in a
nutshell was a real winner. And, if you go to Macromedia and download
Fireworks and Dreamweaver, you'll find the books above to really open
creative doors for you.
I have no tie
to Macromedia, but I think their products are awesome, and the last time
I looked you can download them for a 30 day free trial.
So, what's to lose?
Anyway I have created all the HTML and page layout on this site with Dreamweaver
4 and most of the graphics with Fireworks 4. I do switch back to Photoshop 5.5
and Quark for major work and for my print catalog work. But that may just be because
I was more familiar with them.
Anyway the next
time you're stuck at the doctor's office, in line somewhere or off on
a dive trip, grab a manual. I think you'll be glad you did. |
