You can just copy all of them into a single document and you'll have 1 clean list of all of them. You'll see dupes, you'll see tracks you're missing and more. Now no matter what type of files you have on your computer or where you have them, you'll never be lost again. You get an alphabetized list of any folder or your whole computer in just a very few seconds. COPY YOUR FILES TOO. Yes, Got files in a folder and you want to send a copy somewhere else like your MP3 player? Or to backup a day's work? Or to take the files home? No problem. Just choose the folder, choose the destination and click OK. It's a small easy to use program and now let's get started. |
Easy To Use. Here's Your Interface![]() |
| You'll be listing, printing and copying your files in seconds. There's nothing
fancy. Not a lot of choices. Just follow these simple instructions and you'll
be all set. Arrow 1.) This is the Print, Save And View File Contents OK Button. In short, after you choose a file folder and if you want the Full Path or just the files themselves displayed, this is the button to choose. You can display the files in 2 ways 1a and 1b. See the next arrows. Arrow 1a.) Include folders. This means that each file, regardless of if it's a music track, a picture or a word processing document will show the complete file structure from the hard drive to itself, like this: C:\Documents and Settings\Drew Alan Kaplan\Desktop\1rip journeymen\Dark As A Dungeon.wav Arrow 1b.) Do Not Include folders. This means that all you will see is the actual files that you want without the path. Having the path shows you how to get to the file if you're not sure where it is. Not having them is neat and clean and most useful when the file name, not where it is on your computer, is important. It looks like this: Dark As A Dungeon.wav So to go to this file, you'd go to C:, then you'd find Documents and Settings, Then Drew Alan Kaplan, then Desktop, then the folder 1rip journeymen and viola you've found your file. And remember, Find it will list it in Alphabetical order so it's really easy to find the files you are looking for regardless of whether they are pictures, music or documents. We'll explore the many things you can do with the lists when you view them, or print them below. But here I just wanted you to see how it worked. Arrow 2.) This is the Copy/Send the contents of a folder to another folder or external device like your MP3 player, your jump drive or USB memory that you take home like you used to do with floppy discs. It's really useful for backing up. And MOST important, it doesn't alter, damage or change the original files. It just gives you a perfect digital copy wherever you'd like. Arrow 2a.) Copy the files INCLUDING folders. This means that not only are you copying the tracks, pictures or documents, but they will be copied in the folders in which they currently reside. Arrow 2b.) Copy the files WITHOUT folders. All the files will be copied in bulk without folders so they will all be in one big group. This can be really useful and a fast way to group a bunch of pictures or tracks that up till now have been kept in separate folders. And remember, in no way does this affect the originals. You are getting a perfect copy the way you want it. Arrow 3.) For either Printing or Copying, you click the . . .Button to select the folder or area you want to list or copy. More later. Arrow 4.) You'll have complete control of what type of file or files you want to copy. This is the Universal way to select all files. In short *.* means all file names before the period and all file types after the period. I'll show you how to use this. OK, most of you can start using this now, but there's more you can do if you'll read on a little into the details. |
Print, Save And View – The Easy Way![]() |
| Here I've grayed out the Copy part so we can concentrate on the Print, Save
or View. As I showed you above, you just figure out if you want the folder paths
to print or not and then choose your source and which type of files or all that
you want to List. Arrow 1.) You'll first choose to print with or without folders then click this OK button. Arrow 1a.) Include Folders in your list if you check this button. Arrow 1b.) Don't Include Folders, just the file names, if you choose this button. Arrow 2.) Navigate to the folder. When you click this button, you'll get the standard Windows Browse Dialog box. Just Choose a Folder, the C: drive, your Desktop or a CD or anything you like. That's all there is to choosing what you want to Save, View or Print. NOTE - DON'T TYPE FOLDER NAMES: You click the . . .Button and navigate to folders, you don't type the names. Arrow 3.) OK if you leave the *.* which is the universal symbol or set of characters for everything, all files in the folder or section you've chosen will be displayed. And many times that's fine. But let's examine what we can do. Computer Files are made up of 2 parts separated by a . (period) TheNameOfTheFile.FollowedByTheTypeOfFile OK isn't that simple? But usually you won't be looking for a file if you knew it's exact name. So computer programmers being smart, established a universal way to say "I don't really know what I'm looking for so show me everything. * in computer language is called a wildcard. And a wild card simply means everything. So if you put *.File Type you'll get a list of all files of a certain type. Like *.wav will give you all your .wav files *.mp3 will give you all your MP3 files *.jpg will give you all your Camera Pictures and more. *.doc will give you your Word Docs OK and if you want to look for several types of files at once, no problem. Just use a semicolon like this ; *.wav;*.mp3 So, now you know how to choose a file type to look for. And remember, this isn't just for your DAK music files. Use it for your pictures and other documents too. |
Word Docs - Where Are They? How Do I Find Them? |

Windows Sound Effects |
| Hidden deep in the Windows section are some of the Sound Effects
that came with your computer. Can you find them? Well just do a search for .wav
files on your CD drive and Viola, look what you've got. There is lots hidden on
your computer that now you can view, print and copy without ever opening the folders
that are hidden in Windows. It's all in your hands, and ears. |

now on. Here's part of a list of my SCUBA pictures. It's so fast and easy to just
select .jpg and then find my alphabetized pictures. I could never get this list before, let alone print it. Wow, is this great or what. And the format you are looking at is a standard text file. From this you can print it. Save it to scan later. Export it into Word or some other program to use for tracking and organizing everything. Text files are the perfect format for this and now you get them instantly. |

Copy and Send Files To Another Place |
| OK, you already know the basics. (This time I've Grayed out the Print/View
Section) Use this to copy ALL, not just some of the files in a folder or location like your desktop or C drive, to another location. Of course you can pick the file type again that you want to send. But you can send just some of the files. So like I said before, when you want to backup a folder you've been working on, send all the MP3 files in a folder to an MP3 player or RAM disc; this is the fast and easy way. Arrow 1.) Click OK when you're ready to send the files. Arrow 1a.) With the folders exactly the way they are right now. Arrow 1b.) Without the folders, just the files all in one group. Arrow 2.) Navigate to the Source folder or area. Arrow 3.) Just like in printing above, choose your file type or types and you'll be all set. But there's one more step. Scroll down. |
Where Do You Want To Send The Files? |
| The only thing you'll need to do is decide where you want the files that you
are going to copy to be sent. Arrow 1.) Choose Your Source (not where you're going to send them yet) Arrow 2.) Click OK. Arrow 3.) This alert box will come up to warn you 1. that you are copying files and 2. to tell you that you need to choose a place for them to go. Scroll down to the next picture. |
Where To Send Them 2![]() |
| This is your standard Windows Browse Window. It will come up when you click
OK in the picture above. Arrow 1.) All you need to do is simply navigate to the folder you want to copy your files to. It can be any folder on your computer or any external USB disc or MP3 player. You can also create a new folder if you'd like, at the bottom left. Arrow 2.) Click OK. |
They're Running, They're Running |
| There's nothing for you to do here. This is the Windows dialog box
showing you that the copies are being made. Soon you will have all your tracks,
pictures or files copied to the place of your choice. |
| This is a small, easy to use but very important program. It's amazing how
often you will use this program to find, list, coordinate, print and copy files
on your computer. I use it all the time and I'll bet you will too. That's why
I've made it available. Please let me know if it's good for you too. Enjoy. . . Drew
