It's a condenser Mic. It's kind of neat in that it picks up room sounds
so if you are playing music or TV or anything that's not connected to the EQ,
this Mic will pick it up and you'll see the sound levels on the meters.
Don't worry, it won't be added to the signal you're equalizing. The microphone
is only an ADDED driver to the meters. And you can set the meters for High Or
Low Sensitivity.
It's kind of neat also as you can use it with test tones to test your room. But
it's not like a calibrated Mic ($100 or so) that lets you do extensive calibrated
tests. But you can sure check the difference between two different speaker systems,
speaker placement and tests like that.
Anyway, like I said it's a neat little addition. I checked how it happend and
one of the engineers (one of us propeller heads) thought it would be really neat
so it was added to the EQ, because he could. :)
Enjoy it. It's not a big deal, but it is a nice little extra that should give
you some added functionality with this really great 4-component electronic switching
10-band graphic equalizer.
