Plug in your Mike. Cue up your record. Open any existing music or voice track. Here's a quick example of removing HALF A WORD from a sentence so you can see how it's done.

OK, it really is easy to record anything. For this quick example which really took me only about 3-1/2 minutes to do, we are going to record a sentence using a microphone. Here is my sentence.

"It isn't Very Good."

Now just for fun, we are going to change the word ISN'T to IS. Here we go. To make the recording, Then you'll know 1) how to record, and 2) how to edit.

OK, here we go.

Arrow 1) make sure that microphone is selected. You would use Line in for records or cassettes and What You Hear or Stereo Mix to record from the Internet.

Arrow 2) Set the recording Volume. Set it so that as you look at the Wave windows above, about 60% of the vertical space is used.

Then, Click Record and do your thing. THIS IS THE ACTUAL RECORDING PROCESS.

Finally, Click Stop. You're finished with your recording. You can hear it back if you'd like by clicking the Play Arrow to the left of Record.

Wasn't that just as easy as I said?

Oh, if you look up at the screen you really can see the words words as peaks in the waves. I've superimposed the words "It, isn't very good" to help you see it for the first time. (The words don't actually show on screen.) But this really is how these words look in the wave editor.

Look At Al the Effects You Can Choose From. Most Are 100% Variable Sliders.

This is absolutely unique. Many other recording/editing program offer effects. But at best most have limited presets. Want to convert the sample type of a bunch of files? Just set the bitrate and sample type and this converter will make short work of your project.

Rename a group of files with a prefix and sequence number? No problem. Now you can harmonize a group of files and have them all show a similar file name and a sequential number. Very useful for lots of files, not just your music.

So Let's Actually Save The Track

OK, for this picture I've used the Zoom In Command so you can see the tracks better here. It's just a single click and you'll zoom in. In Fact, you can zoom all the way in so that you can see an actual single word if you want. Anyway, regardless of whether you did it on the first screen or you expanded it some, you've easily separated the tracks.

Select a track by dragging from one blank part to the next. You can click play to listen to what you've selected any time you want. So, you have a combination of audio and visual to help you edit.

Now use the special "Save Select As" in the file menu and you're all set.

Save it as either Wave (standard Audio) or MP3 or WMA or OGG. Now you can separate and save your tracks. Plus, this is just ONE of the ways you can do it. In my tutorial, I show you more

Track Tracker Program Separates Your Tracks.

The Track Tracker is your first time every time Exclusive DAK wonder for automatically separating your tracks. You could spend an hour doing this manually as I showed you above. You'll spend about 2 minutes doing it with the Track Tracker.

Here Are Your Tracks - NAMED & NUMBERED AUTOMATICALLY

OK, this is hot. Look at the tracks above. Each of your tracks is named so you know what it is or where it came from or both. Then it's numbered sequentially so you can pick and choose the tracks you want. And they've all been put in the folder of your choice.

Note: The actual Icons will look like whatever your default music player is on your computer. And you can play them with that, open them in the Wave Editor, or burn them to CDs. That's it. Using the Track Tracker couldn't be easier.

Then put in the track names in the included Batch Transformer or Playlist Manger.

Song Stalker Silence Seeking Internet Recording Program For XP

This is the Holy Grail of Internet recording. Get separated tracks as you actually record. And the Song Stalker is the best of the best I've seen. As you record and as the Song Stalker sees the silence between tracks, it automatically closes each track it's recording and begins a new track.

Plus the Song Stalker will automatically save your tracks in the folder of your choice and not only does the Song Stalker automatically number the tracks for you, but it lets you assign a prefix name so you'll easily and effortlessly know what you've recorded and where it is. It's actually a separate program that's now built into new DAK Wave & MP3 Editor/Recorder.
The Song Stalker continuously monitors the Noise Floor of your music and looks for the silence that connotes a track separation. When it finds the silence,

It creates a New Track.
It Names Your Track With a Prefix
And It Numbers your track for you.

It's like a robot that essentially presses a virtual stop button, names and numbers the track, clears the screen and starts recording a new track. Wow, it does a lot. And it does it all without you.

It's very sophisticated. But in short it looks for silence. It uses very sophisticated algorithms to determine what silence really is. And it does a really good job.

It often reaches a totally automatic success rate of 7 or 8 tracks out of 10 for copying for live streaming Audio Internet Recording. But have no fear. You can separate the few remaining tracks using the Wave Editor itself or the all new Track Tracker technology that's just been added to the DAK Wave & MP3 Editor/Recorder. It's not recommended for LPs and Cassettes as they usually have too much surface noise and clicks and pops that stop silence sending programs from finding the tracks.

Using the Song Stalker is super easy and super fast. And the recordings will be flawless digital copies of whatever you want to copy.

Wow, Here Are Your Named, Numbered, Separated Tracks

There's nothing to it. Just open the folder where you asked the Song Stalker to put your tracks and you'll see all your tracks. They've been Named with the Prefix you chose. They've been numbered so you know which they are. And They're all in the folder you chose too so you never have to go looking for where they are. It's your complete automated music copying system.

Oh, and your Icon Image graphics may look different because it all depends on what your default music player is. But what won't be different is the Track Name and Number. It will be exactly what you want. And it was all done automatically for you by the new DAK Song Stalker Internet Recording Technology.

All that's left for you to do is enjoy your music.

The Main Voice Over PRO Interface – What You'll See
This is Only Included with the Upgraded Editor with burner and effects.

I want you to get familiar with the Voice Over PRO interface. It's split into 4 parts. There are 3 Wave Editors, the 3rd of which is the Recorder and the Master controls.

It's really easy to use and we've made it super easy for you to use it to make really terrific mixed music and Voice Over recordings. OK here we go:

Arrow 1. This is the 1st editor. You'll load the background or first layer of content in this editor.

In other sections we'll explore the details but this is the master where your final mixed effort will end up. You do the recording in Editor/Recorder 3 below, but the final mix that you'll save will be here, in what we call Master File 1

Arrow 2. This editor works for playing exactly like 1 above. Honestly, most of the time you won't use this because you'll probably be just mixing two files at a time. But, when you want to mix 3 stereo tracks together, this is where the 2nd track will be loaded. And remember your Voice Over PRO like any other Multitrack Mixer keeps each of the 3 stereo (6 Mono) tracks totally separate but 100% synced till you click Mix.

Arrow 3. This is the recording Editor. It's very similar to the two editors above, but it adds live recording capability. This is where you'll record with your microphone or other source. And if you want to record many tracks, you'll record them here then load them into 1 or 2 above to mix them with something new you record. There are two ways to record, (the two red buttons) but we'll explore them later.

Arrow 4. This is the master section. When you click the play button here, all 3 editors will start to play in perfect sync. This is STILL BEFORE you mix them and combine them into 1 professional stereo track you can burn to a CD or create as an MP3. But, when you are thrilled with your effort, just click the Mix-em button on the far right and then you'll recreate a perfect mixed copy that will end up in the top window for you to name and save. That's pretty much all there is to understanding the concept.

It does 100 times more than this, but we'll explore the details in the tutorial that comes with the Upgraded Wave Editor with Burner and Voice Over PRO.

DAK's NEW PLAYLIST MANAGER
PRESERVE TRACK ORDER WONDER

The problem. Windows sorts all the tracks on your computer, in your MP3 player and when your burn CDs alphabetically.

That's not the order you want for your musicals, symphonies or any of your tracks to be in. For a musical, you want the overture as the first track.

For a symphony, you want the first movement. And for your favorite, folk, jazz or rock songs, you want your tracks in the order they were in on the CDs, LPs or cassettes.

Till now, this was an unfixable Windows problem. Now, when you EITHER rip a CD or open a group of files from your hard disk, the Preserve Track Tool will assign a number prefix in front of the track name so that even when Windows sorts it, your track will stay in perfect order.

It looks like this (see left arrow in picture above):

But that's not all. If you have tracks from different albums you can tell the Preserve Track Tool to assign a common Prefix so all the tracks stay not only in track order, but with the album they belong too like this:

DAK puts your tracks in perfect order and keeps them there in your computer, when you copy your tracks to MP3 players and when you burn CDs. This is a major new breakthrough in Digital music enjoyment.

PRESERVE TRACK ORDER IN ACTION

Here's a real life EXAMPLE you can do it yourself of Windows Sorting that ruins your enjoyment of the music. I took my copy of Phantom Of The Opera and Ripped it to my computer. What you see on the left is the actual ripped results that I got and you would get too. As you can see the Overture came out as track 7.
IT'S THE SAME WHEN YOU COPY LPs, CASSETTES or anything onto your computer. Windows by default will put it in alphabetical order AND THERE'S NO SOLUTION that I've found till now.

On the right, you'll see DAK's Preserved Track Order in Action. It adds a small numerical prefix in front of the name that tricks windows into keeping your tracks in the exact order that you want them.

It's simple. It's fast and you can have it added EITHER when you rip CDs, or use the Playlist Manager to PERMANENTLY CREATE TRACK ORDER that will never change. It's a whole new world of finally having your music stay in the order it's supposed to be in from now on. Plus below you'll see how easy it is to add a prefix that will also keep all tracks from an artist or album together and still in track order too.

PRESERVE TRACK ORDER IN ACTION- WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

Here's how it really looks. When you use either the Ripper or the Playlist Manager.

Arrow 1 Just choose MP3 or Wave

Arrow 2 can be your PREFIX. In this case I am using the Album Name as my prefix. This is my favorite folk group, the Limeliters and this is their album Harmony.

Arrow 3 shows you the DAK TRACK PRESERVING number. This is track 14 and it will always be track 14 of this album. Windows can never change it. And it won't be confused with track 14 of some other album because of the Harmony Prefix.
Finally, Arrow 4 is the Actual Track Name. This is what you really care about and now it's in the order it's supposed to be in. Now you'll listen to your music just as it was supposed to be listened to. It's all up to you. And now, it's all easy.

PRINT TRACKS PLAYLISTS INSTANTLY

This is big. Sure using your burner software you can often print a track list when you burn a CD. But there's been almost no way to print a track list for the tracks you keep on your computer or load into an MP3 player.

And, with several hundred tracks going into an MP3 player these days, how will you ever know what you have?

Now just load the tracks in the Playlist Manager. There's nothing special to do. If the tracks are on your computer, you can load any MP3s and Wav files.

Anyway Click Print and you'll instantly have the entire list in Window's Notepad. Then just click Notepad Print for a printed list, or save the file and you can import the text file into any fancy label printing program you might have. Any good one does have import.

You'll really appreciate the printed tracks. I carry the printed track lists in my car for my 12-disc changer and in my brief case for my MP3 player.

Plus it's great to have on my computer so I can instantly search it to see where a particular song is located. This is a great tool.

NAME AND RENAME YOUR TRACKS

Everyone has been asking for this. When you create a bunch of tracks, how do you easily rename the tracks without going through the tiresome Windows Rename process. Well, I've made it super easy.

First. When you are ripping, just click on the track number or name and type over whatever is there. You can type over it whether it's just a track number or even when the program has found the track name for you automatically.
Second OK, so you've got a bunch of tracks on your hard drive and you want to rename them. Just load them in the Playlist Manager. Then highlight any track, click on Rename and type away into the box. It's just that easy.

Plus, you can play any to be sure it's the track you want to rename. It's quick. It's easy and now you can easily name and rename any .WAV or MP3 track on your computer.

NOTE: Above I've added onto the name. But you can rename, add on or do anything you want. Every character is yours to command.

If you're like me, you have a bunch of 78s that are just sitting around. And your really good turntable doesn't play 78s. So, until now, you've no way to copy them to CDs let alone listen to them at all.

Now you can. DAK's all new 78 Automatic Converter lets you copy your 78s to your computer and then with a single click, listen to them again. It's great. It's easy and yes, you can easily restore them and burn them to CDs too.

OK, here's all you do. Get out your 78 RPM records. And put one on your turntable.

Select 45 RPM and your set.

Click the Record Button on the Wave Editor/Recorder and then put the needle in the groove.

Just choose 45 RPM on your turntable and your 78s will soon be flawlessly copied to your computer and on CDs for you to enjoy from now on.

After you've played one side of the 78, Click Stop, name and save the file.

OK, now the fun begins.

1. Click Effects Menu/Speed Decode
2. Click 78 RPM Converter.

And like magic, the 78 RPM record that you played at 45 RPM will be converted to the correct speed. Click Play and you'll see how GREAT it sounds.

Save Time On Cassettes Too.

Now if you have a high speed dubbing deck or a cassette duplicator, just play your cassettes at double speed and after you record, just click Speed Decode/Half speed and the cassettes will be digitally returned to normal flawless digital sound.

Now with the DAK automatic timers and the 1/2x speed decode you really can process hundreds of cassettes super fast and with perfect fidelity. And if you've got any old tapes that were recorded at 15/16ths or 1-7/8s, use the 2X speed decode to return them to normal speed. It's digital and perfect.

Tune Library Automated Jukebox.
Like Channel Surfing ON TV, Now Surf All Your Tunes.

Now you're just a click from any tune you own. Load them in the Tune Library and play them, sort them, enjoy them. Now you'll have all your tracks at your instant control.

Here's what I love to do. I just surf from one track to another. No CDs to load. I take a track from the Limeliters, one from Oliver and one from Annie Get Your Gun.

Here's the point. When you load CDs, you can play any track on the CD with just a click. But when you open the DAK Tune Library Jukebox, you can have all your tracks that you own ready to 'channel surf'. It really is literally every track you own ready to play with just a few clicks.

This is AWESOME.

DIRECT OPEN CD AUDIO (cda) FILES.

OK, this is hot. Up till now you needed to get a CD Ripper to transfer music tracks from your CDs to your computer so you could copy them or edit them.

It's been a bit of a headache but even though Wave Files are like what you find on a CD, they are actually CDA Files. And, Wave Editors don't come with CDA opening capability. Now the new DAK Wave & MP3 Editor/Recorder PRO DIRECTLY OPENS CDA FILES RIGHT FROM ANY AUDIO CD.

Just navigate to your CD drive as I've done above and choose CDA from the drop down box where I put my BIG DEAL arrow and you can now open CDA audio files instantly and effortlessly. This is the same box that you use to choose Wave & MP3 Files. So, now it's as easy to open CDA files as Wave & MP3 Files.

This is a big, big extra.

DAK's EASY CD AUDIO WRITER PROGRAM

Your computer came with CD burner software. And it probably works fine. But, it's probably a general purpose program that does lots of things other than just burn flawless digital audio CD copies of your music.

Because it's made to do so many things, it's often hard to find the controls you need to actually burn audio CDs. You need to be sure to Finalize/Close your CDs and to lower the burn speed to one half if you are burning for older car, home and portable CD players.

I've made this CD burner close the discs automatically so you don't have to worry about it and I've put the speed control right up front.

And use our Playlist manger to set up the playlist order, then ours keeps the Preserve Track Order you selected when you ripped your CDs or used Preserve Track Order in the Playlist manager.

So add a track, a few tracks or all the tracks in a folder or from several folders. Move any track within the list anywhere you want. Remove any track. And combine Wave and MP3 files to burn your CDs. It's the easiest CD Burner software ever, because it does all the heavy lifting for you.

EASY-SET BURN SPEED

I just wanted you to see the pull down box for setting your burn speed. Why do you care? Many home and car CD players won't play the CDs you make unless you burn at about 1/2 the max speed of your burner.

In this case I'd use 16X and everything would be fine. Not all burners support variable speed burning, but if they do, this is the only place you need to look.

I just got a new car with MP3 CD capability so I've just added this new MP3 CD writer too. MP3 CDs hold up to 10 hours of music and if you have a car that plays them it's better than having a changer. Also they play great on your computer and home theatre systems too. A Quick NOTE About My Pictures.

Some of the pictures aren't as sharp as I'd put in the print catalog. You see I have to cut back their files sizes or this page would never load (especially if you're on a dial up modem).

The technical side is that I'm shooting JPEGS at 80-100 percent quality and I cut them back to 50-60% and pretty much limit them to 600 pixels in width or less so that they'll fit on your monitor and load reasonably fast. In short, each picture is about 450,000 bytes when I shoot it and 20-40,000 bytes here on the page. A picture for the catalog is about 6,000,000 bytes.

I've created this page using separate tables for each picture so that you don't have to wait for everything to load in order to start looking. The picture captions will display first and then the pictures (usually starting at the top, but not always due to the way your computer interprets the web).

BUT HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE. I don't feel you can really know about a product unless the pictures are big and clear enough for you to really see (almost touch). Then you'll know what you're getting. So in my print catalogs the pictures can be sharper, but on the web I can show you a lot more angles, sides and parts of each product. I hope this helps.
