A Thousand Words
It's true. If you want to more about the new DAK 2045 PC To Stereo Protected Perfection Interface & Cable, a picture really can be worth a thousand words. And it's especially true with technology. As you look below, I hope that you'll see the parts, angles and buttons clearly so that you'll have a 100% clear understanding of just what this product can do for you. Products don't get reviewed unless I think they're good. I hope my pictures help you determine if you agree or not. . . Drew
Here's the PC to Stereo Interface. Just plug the Interface's male 3.5mm jack into the soundcard right where your speakers were before and you're all set.
Then plug the two Left and Right RCA Plugs into any AUX, or Line Input in your stereo system. That's it you're all set. The two transformers in the PC to Stereo Protected Perfection will now stop all hum coming from ground loops by totally isolating the ground between the components. Concurrently, it also matches your 4-32 ohm soundcard output to the 47,000 ohm input of your Line and AUX inputs.

This is a Schematic of the Interface so that you'll understand exactly what it does and how it works. Of course all you have to do is install it. It does the rest for you automatically.

1. This is the Plug that you plug into your sound card. The end (tip) is the left channel hot, the center band (ring) is the right channel hot. The Sleeve is the common ground from your soundcard. And this will be broken at the transformers.

2. Now we're getting to the important parts. 2, 3 and 4 are actually all parts of the precision low noise matched transformers. First, 2 is the 4-32 ohm input side. Do you see how it has fewer coils/turns? That's so that when we get to 3 on the other side with more turns you'll see that the impedance is stepped up.

3. This is the HZ side at 47,000 ohms. A transformer works much like an electrical generator. A current passes through the coils and it's transferred onto the other side. Nothing touches and therefore the ground loop doesn't pass between sides of the transformer. You could have a transformer like this that didn't correct the impedance and it would work just fine for stopping the ground loop. But we're fixing both problems here. Also, there are different qualities and noise levels and this is a superb low noise example, but you can't see that, you'll just hear it. Anyway it all has to do with the precision of the wind and the materials used.

4. This is the center of the transformer. Note that to make the picture easier to understand I moved down to the left channel, but both right and left channels are identical and the are also both totally isolated from each other. No ground potential passes.

5/6. These are the RCA Jacks that plug into the Left and Right Channels of your stereo system or home theater system. There's nothing special about them. They're just standard RCA plugs. Oh, and they also plug into the 10' special extension cable that we've included with the interface so that you have 16 feet of cable to run between your computer and your stereo system. You can also add 2 more 10 foot cables without suffering signal loss. You can get those after you click the buy button on the review page and look just below my shopping cart. Just add one or two if you need them.

OK, this drawing is really straight forward. It just shows how the PC to Stereo Protected Perfection Interface hooks up.

1. Plug the Interface into the soundcard exactly as your speakers were plugged in before.

2. Plug the RCA Jacks into your stereo system or home theater system.
3. Here's the back of your receiver. Just plug it in.
4. Know that absolutely no ground potential passes through the interface. Only matched impedance signal is passed.

That's it. It's easy. But oh, does it work great.

Here's your 10 foot extension cable. It's called an extension cable because it has standard RCA Male plugs on one end but, it has FEMALE RCA Jacks on the other end. Just plug the interface into the female jacks and then the male jacks into your stereo system. Note: you can purchase 1 or 2 additional 10' cables for just $6.95 each when you get to the shopping cart page after you click the buy button for the PC To Stereo Protected Perfection. These additional cables are not available without the interface. And there will only be a $1 additional P&H charge per cable.

Here's my VOM (Volt Ohm Meter). What I'm testing here is to see if there is any connection between the ground on the 3.5mm jack which connects to your sound card and the RCA jack which you connect to your stereo. 1) As you can see the meter reads 0. There is absolutely no electrical connection at all. So, you are protected. 2/3 are the two jacks. 2 is the RCA jack and 3 is the 3.5mm jack.

New For Wave Editor PRO - -
Automated Timed Record.

This is big. It's groundbreaking. It's going to take the hassle out of recording. We've just added a Set and Forget Timer to the New Wave Editor Pro. Why do you need it?

Now you don't have to baby-sit your recordings. Most LPs are about 20 minutes per side. Just choose a time a few minutes longer than the side of your record or cassette. Click Timed Start, then start your LP or tape and go do something else.

You no longer have to keep an eye on when your recording will be finished. Now you can simply come back any time. Save your file. Separate your tracks. Edit out talking. Or, do whatever you want to do with your music.

I've never seen a Length Timer incorporated into a Wave Editor before. This is a revolutionary improvement that will really free you to record while you do other things. It truly is a mega-time saver for all of us. Now you can convert all your Records, Tapes and Internet Radio easily and effortlessly.

Advanced Timer & Scheduler
OK, this is a very different timer. What if there's an Internet radio broadcast that you want to record at 8 PM tonight. But you're not going to be home, or if you're like me you might have a 'senior moment' and forget to record it.

Well, no problem. Now you can schedule your new DAK Wave Editor Pro to record for you at any time you like.

And there's more. What if you want to record an AM radio broadcast or anything that's not in your computer. Just connect it to your computer using our Mixer Interface and leave on the AM or FM radio and set the timer to record. And don't forget all the great music that's probably on your cable system right now.

Now you can record just about anything, any time you want. Now you don't have to be home. Now it's easy. It's like a VCR for your audio.

Song Stalker Silence Seeking Program
This is the Holy Grail of recording. Get separated tracks as you actually record. And the Song Stalker is the best of the best I've seen. As you record and as the Song Stalker sees the silence between tracks, it automatically closes each track it's recording and begins a new track.

Plus the Song Stalker will automatically save your tracks in the folder of your choice and not only does the Song Stalker automatically number the tracks for you, but it lets you assign a prefix name so you'll easily and effortlessly know what you've recorded and where it is. It's actually a separate program that's now built into new DAK Wave & MP3 Editor/Recorder Pro v3.1
The Song Stalker continuously monitors the Noise Floor of your music and looks for the silence that connotes a track separation. When it finds the silence,

It creates a New Track.
It Names Your Track With a Prefix
And It Numbers your track for you.

It's like a robot that essentially presses a virtual stop button, names and numbers the track, clears the screen and starts recording a new track. Wow, it does a lot. And it does it all without you.

It's very sophisticated. But in short it looks for silence. It uses very sophisticated algorithms to determine what silence really is. And it does a really good job.

It often reaches a totally automatic success rate of 7 or 8 tracks out of 10. But have no fear. You can separate the few remaining tracks using the Wave Editor itself or the all new Track Tracker technology that's just been added to the DAK Wave & MP3 Editor/Recorder Pro v3.1. See below for more on track splitting theory.

Using the Song Stalker is super easy and super fast. And the recordings will be flawless digital copies of whatever you want to copy.
Wow, Here Are Your Named, Numbered, Separated Tracks

There's nothing to it. Just open the folder where you asked the Song Stalker to put your tracks and you'll see all your tracks. They've been Named with the Prefix you chose. They've been numbered so you know which they are. And They're all in the folder you chose too so you never have to go looking for where they are. It's your complete automated music copying system.

Oh, and your Icon Image graphics may look different because it all depends on what your default music player is. But what won't be different is the Track Name and Number. It will be exactly what you want. And it was all done automatically for you by the new DAK Song Stalker Technology.

All that's left for you to do is enjoy your music.

A Quick NOTE About My Pictures.
Some of the pictures aren't as sharp as I'd put in the print catalog. You see I have to cut back their files sizes or this page would never load (especially if you're on a dial up modem).
The technical side is that I'm shooting JPEGS at 80-100 percent quality and I cut them back to 50-60% and pretty much limit them to 600 pixels in width or less so that they'll fit on your monitor and load reasonably fast. In short, each picture is about 450,000 bytes when I shoot it and 20-40,000 bytes here on the page. A picture for the catalog is about 6,000,000 bytes.
I've created this page using separate tables for each picture so that you don't have to wait for everything to load in order to start looking. The picture captions will display first and then the pictures (usually starting at the top, but not always due to the way your computer interprets the web).
BUT HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE. I don't feel you can really know about a product unless the pictures are big and clear enough for you to really see (almost touch). Then you'll know what you're getting. So in my print catalogs the pictures can be sharper, but on the web I can show you a lot more angles, sides and parts of each product. I hope this helps. If I ever forget to show you some part of the product that you want to see, Email me at DrewKaplan@DAK.com and I'll do my best to add it to the page quickly.
