USB Turntable.
Here are my 8 now 11 reasons
I don’t think you should buy a USB turntable. Below my 11 reasons is the
full story on my easier to use complete audiophile LP to CD & MP3 system.

software & not a USB turntable. The easy audiophile way convert LPs.
Not USB Reason 1.) Your
Computer already has a great sound card. Unfortunately
when you plug in a USB turntable, you deactivate the sound card in your computer
and lose your system sounds from startup to incoming email alerts unless you unplug
the USB turntable each time or do a software trick. Often your computer's sound
card costs $100 or more. So why buy a USB turntable for $120-$200? How much is
left for the quality of the turntable, cartridge, phono preamp, and recording
programs?
Not USB Reason 2.) Already own a perfectly good turntable?
Why pay for a new turntable and especially a new cartridge that simply may not
be as good? Just because your turntable is old doesn't mean it's bad. Oh,

Actually, you need the PC interface
mixer for 3 major reasons. Connecting a Turntable or Cassette deck to your computer
used to be very problematic. But
this professional PC Interface Preamp Mixer really does instantly solve all your
connection problems. Plus, it's a great mixer to use for mixing in your stereo
system, PA system or DJ Amps when you're on the road. Of course, you may only want
to connect one turntable or cassette deck to your PC, but you need top of the
line quality for the copying process so you're getting a component with a ton
of overkill to do the job right. It has switchable inputs for
2 turntables or 2 cassette decks. It has a microphone in jack and a headphone
monitoring jack too. Of course there are separate volume controls for every function.

So
What Problems Does It Solve?
Problem 1. You can't
just plug a turntable into your sound card. You need a phono preamp that both
boosts the signal and decodes the RIAA equalization curve manufactured into LPs
because of the physical limitations of LP records themselves. The PC Preamp Mixer Interface
both Boosts and Equalizes the signal. (See my LP to CD tutorial for a full description
of the RIAA decoding requirements.) Problem
2. 60-cycle hum is a major problem when connecting a turntable to anything
but particularly a computer.
You're likely to get ground loops between the multiple AC grounds and your modem
can be a big problem too. This PC Interface Mixer isolates and suppresses the
hum. Although it's AC powered,
it operates with 12V ground-loop transformed protected power, so there is no ground
loop untransformed AC power on the chassis. So, now you'll have NO hum problem
at all. Important Hum Gone Note: The PC Preamp Mixer Interface does not filter
the hum. Its ground-loop breaking circuitry prevents the hum from ever occurring
in the first place. So there's no loss of music quality at all.

Problem 3. You need
to access the sound card line inputs usually found on the back of your computer.
And, usually space is a problem on your desk where you keep your computer. By connecting the PC Mixer
Interface, you get a small (just 9" x 5" x 2") electronically protected
connection to your sound card's line inputs. And when you're not using
it, you can put the PC Mixer Interface on or behind your monitor. I've even included
the necessary sound card interface cable too. Just
plug in the mixer (using the included interface cable) then put the turntable,
a portable cassette or open reel tape deck on your desk as needed. (You really
won't tie up much space.) It's easy. You can mix, fade
and control it all. Check the LED VU Meters, adjust the level to match your sound
card and go. You'll be turning LPs to CDs of your favorite musical memories in
no time at all. And oh will they sound great.

turntable. It's a VERY HEAVY DUTY turntable made for the professional disc

DRIVE MOTOR and heavy all aluminum turntable platter for ultra-low
wow and flutter for perfect musical reproduction. (And perfect LP to CD copies
too.) Scratching is simply
manually holding the record at an exact spot and then releasing it so it starts
at the exact selected spot for on-air play and copying just the tracks or parts
of tracks you want to CDs and MP3s. It's big. It's 17.75"
wide and 14" deep. We are shipping this turntable with a Professional Phase
II cartridge with an elliptical diamond stylus of course and a frequency response
from 20hz to 20,000hz, or at least that's as far as the test equipment I used
measured. This is not just a consumer turntable. You need to have anti-skating
control. It's a law of physics that the rotational speed of the platter, causes
the arm to drag the stylus from the center of the groove.
Don't buy a turntable without a numbered anti-skating control
so you can keep the record in the center of the groove.
Set the anti-skating to match the tracking force and you'll track the center of
the groove. If you don't, your stylus doesn't track the center of the groove and
it's both bad for the record and bad for your sound. DAK's pro turntable has full
anti-skating control. A damped cuing arm is needed
for gentle needle drops. Many record players today don't even have a cueing arm,
let alone a damped cueing arm, so you don't scratch your records as you lower
the stylus. The best have damped cuing
arms that gently lower your stylus into the groove for you. Check before you buy.

own a good turntable with a cartridge that's still in good shape, then go ahead

with a top of the line cartridge that hasn't hardened with age so you do get the
nuanced highs, then for sure get DAK's PRO DJ turntable. Don't settle for one
of those cheap all in one plastic systems. You'll simply hate the results. Oh, and by the way, if you're

of the vinyl forever by copying them to CD and only playing the digitized programmable

But we've just added presets so, for example if you recorded an LP onto a cassette
and now you are converting the cassette to digital, the algorithms in the program
will remove the clicks and scratches from the original record and then remove
the hiss from the cassette.

elliptical diamond stylus and we've mounted it on a standard professional removable

Beware of cartridges mounted directly to the arm. Be sure you have variable tracking
weight, anti-skating on any turntable you buy. Note a good diamond stylus like
ours is good for about 3500 plays. But cartridges do get old so it's best to replace
a cartridge every 7-10 years so it's most able to reproduce the fine nuances of
